The Lesedi Strikers is a story of hope and a future for young women in the township of Mabopane, South Africa. Using the power of sport to attract vulnerable teenagers, we proactively intervene in their lives—equipping them with vital life skills to develop their personality and character, and presenting life-changing opportunities in professional soccer. The Lesedi Strikers ladies soccer team consists of 30 young women, between 15-25 years old, and plays in a semi-professional third league with the dream of reaching a professional premier league level. Our licensed and experienced coach - Nhlanhla Maseko, AKA Coach Fire - conducts 3 trainings per week, which include Life Skills coaching, and the team plays 4 matches per month and 22 league games per season A special thanks to our loyal supporters at Rays of Hope for sponsoring the Lesedi Strikers girls soccer team! |
