Information is the key to a better quality of life; knowledge can open the door to limitless opportunities. Our team of experienced and dedicated Social Auxiliary Workers implement our unique Pro-Active Information Program (PAIP) in our partnering local primary and high schools in Mabopane. The program uses interactive and relevant tool kits including classroom activities, sports, arts & culture, events and holiday programs to provide learners with essential information needed to make positive choices for their emotional and physical well being.
This 12-week program has been adapted and incorporated into our USAID-sponsored TB project, covering essential youth development topics such as reproductive health, TB/HIV awareness, human rights, gender equality, life skills, teenage pregnancy, mental health, and drug and alcohol abuse prevention. Lesedi la Batho further supports this program by offering practical support to meet the needs of the youth encountered through the implementation of PAIP, including a teenage pregnancy support group, free day care service for teenage mothers, and monthly food parcel donations for child-headed households. |
